Leaving your pets at home when you go away is not easy, but life happens and sometimes our pets need to stay at home. So take the stress out of your holiday with At Home Pet Care.
I'm Jen, a dedicated pet care professional providing a variety of services designed to give you peace of mind whilst you're away. Home visits ensure your cat or dog is in familiar surroundings to minimise anxiety and maximise comfort, offering a more convenient and cost-effective alternative to catteries and kennels. Small animals are welcome to stay at my home where they will receive lots of attention and care.
I specialise in caring for younger and older pets and those with medical or support needs, however all pets receive the same dependable, professional care no matter their breed, age or requirements. I can administer injections and oral medication and am pet first aid trained.
I offer a free, no commitment Discovery Visit to discuss your requirements and to meet you and your pets.
HOME VISIT - £10
- Feed, refresh water and litter clean
- Playtime and pampering if your pet is happy to do so
- Giving medication, including oral and under skin injections
- Letting out/ bringing in as required
DOG WALK - £10 for 30 minutes
I walk solo/ same family dogs - no mixed packs - so that they get full attention and are safe when out of home. I do not allow your dog off the lead, giving you assurance that they are in good hands at all times, but happy to use extendable leads with your permission.
SMALL ANIMAL BOARDING - £10 per day
I welcome small pets such as hamsters, gerbils, chinchillas, guinea pigs, rabbits, cockatiels and other birds to stay over at my home where they will have lots of pamper time and supervision.
OTHER SERVICES (on request)
- Watering plants - indoor/ outdoor/ greenhouse
- Home security checks/ curtains/ lighting
- Shopping for your return home
- Post management for longer vacations
- Maintenance checks and referrals to trades for repairs e.g. flushing WCs, running taps
- Pet transport including vet visits.

Should your regular provider be unavailable or if you have an urgent need for pet care - please call or WhatsApp on 07307 896245 and I will endeavour to assist.
SECURITY
- I will collect and manage your key using a key safe and unlabelled system.
- Your data is held digitally and secure in line with current UK legislation.
Meet Jen, a true animal lover
Hi, I'm Jen a trusted pet care professional with 40+ years of experience in looking after animals. I grew up with my best friend - my Dalmatian dog called Fingal - plus horses, rabbits, cats, hamsters, cockatiels, chickens and pigeons. I now have a rescue cat with medical needs and who requires oral and under-skin injections several times a day.
The love of animals: I have helped to save street cats and dogs from the dog meat trade in Thailand, worked at a wildlife sanctuary in South Africa, vetted potential cat and dog adopters for a rescue and helped create and maintain a nature reserve in Hampshire. I now volunteer for the Cinnamon Trust and am a Trustee for the RSPCA Preston & District branch.
Your pet is my passion: I am 100% dedicated to ensuring your pet is comfortable and cared for in your absence. If I am visiting your home, I ensure that everything is safe and secure to give you complete peace of mind whilst you're away. I am fully insured, DBS checked and trained in pet first aid meaning you won't find a more qualified and trustworthy pet carer in Lancashire - the reviews speak for themselves!
